Syrus Alcot is Osiris the God of Death in the Egyptian Pantheon. Syrus, will not have all of his power returned to him until he meets his keeper, the woman destined to share his heart as well. Bookswagger Marcia: I did not like the heroine Gwen when I first met her but I loved her best friend. Gwen came across as such a push over and I wanted to put my hands over my eyes, to avoid the horror. But boy did she turn it around. She came into her own quickly, as soon as she and Syrus are speeding away, it was so realistic and I understood why her character had to be such a push over in the beginning. Gwen’s personality allowed her to be understanding and accepting of things that might have taken the average person off guard.

The hero was definitely a God, Syrus had an ego but on him it was an endearing quality.  I loved his sense of humor and his care free attitude toward the things he did not like, he was exactly what you would expect of a God.

Something Darker made me laugh and I am looking forward to the next book in the series, I was sold when Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Transformers were mentioned. I mean anyone who can drop two of my favorite childhood cartoons into the dialogue is a keeper.

I’ve been hearing good things about this book. Good thing the main character turned it around as you said. If a character starts out weak, I need them to grow.
