Hannah Wentworth McMurtry is a widow, who lost everything including her new husband. She married to save her family, now she is alone found in the wilderness until she is found by Flint Creed. Flint said he would marry the first woman he saw, he did not count on her being stubborn and gorgeous. His heart belongs to his brother’s fiancé and if he cannot have her he‘d just as well take a wife to make it easier to deal with not having the one he loves. Hannah needs a husband for her own purposes, even though the dream of true love is one she will have to throw away again, she decides to marry Flint, not knowing his heart belongs to another, dashing her belief he may grow to love her.

Bookswagger Marcia: I am a sucker for a good cowboy romance, I guess that is the Texan in me. Hannah is a heroine I liked, even though she was young she was always honest with herself. Not something that we see all the time in romances, you know our heroines are famous for their denial but hey that is what helps create conflict. Hannah admitted to herself she never sacrificed anything before, so why was she so willing to give up her happiness for her families and the well being of others. I mean we have all asked ourselves that even over small things. The hero Flint Creed was a brick wall. He thawed out in the end, but I would have liked to see more interaction between them as a couple, too much of their conflict came from other sources. When as feisty as Hannah was she could have created more havoc then she did. The main subplot of the story was Flints brother Ransom’s issue with his fiancé (I will not spoil it for you), Flints self professed soul mate. I could have did without so much focus on Ransom, but this is a series and all the sisters lives seem to be intertwined with the Creed brothers so it will be interesting to see how it plays out for the other sisters.
