I definitely want to see more WoC in Fantasy/Sci-Fi full length novels. Hmmm…I’d love to see more WoC in MMA romances. Let’s see what else??? Ohhhh Romantic comedy romances with diverse characters! That’s what I’m dying to see more of!

Oh I forgot about romantic comedies. They def get no love. even the lighter side of fiction tend to lack Women of Color… I mean it is not all doom and gloom for us, holding it down till we find some dude that can see past or damage. We are funny, well rounded and capable human beings… But sigh, one day and I am sure someone is writing these Unicorns as I type. 🙂

Hmmm, good question. I would love to see some unicorns too, but I’ll settle for more African characters. I like African-American, Indian, Asian etc, but continental Africans is still rare. So that’s my unicorn.

I feel you on that, even when they are written it is hard to get noticed. In a industry where everyone can hit send to be published no matter the quality.

That unicorn image is all sorts of awesome. I agree regarding comedies, historical fiction and sci-fi. MC romances aren’t my favorite, but give me some sweaty MMA and I’m down with some wine and popcorn. 🙂 If you’re looking for some spankings check of Bridget Midway, her heroines seem to have all sorts of fun.

I love Bridget Midway but when you ran through all the good ones, and you go looking for more… lol. You know I used to read MMA back in the day and I loved it but you’ll have me wanting to check it out now that diversity is in play so I am going to have to go look and see why you’ll are loving it!

Thanks for participating in the Color of Love Blog Hop. I’d like to see more multicultural Urban fantasy books. Kick ass heroes and heroins saving the day.

Yes that is one that is lacking as well only one author comes to mind well one living and that is the Seressia Glass, Shadow Blade series and there are no new books in that one. So that would be a good one to see more diversity in, we should be able to rattle names off!

Ooh, this is nice! I think my chief Unicorns would be setting-related, though: more diverse romance set in countries other than the U.S. or U.K., for one. There are also developing Unicorns like diversity in non-fetishized age-gap romance and geek romance.

Yes, I do like older heroes and heroines, I think that is why I enjoyed Billy London, A Life Sublime so much. Both the hero and heroine were older. I think some authors think or there publishers we do not want older but I talk to so many people who do! Yes I grew up reading but and I am in my 30s but I love reading 40 and 50s heroines I mean my goodness, I hope love is possible at every age, I think anything done right is a good story.
