New Author, New Point of View

Because of a change in leadership I had to kill off a lot of my social media activity which made me a little tart, because it was selective. That is a story for another day. I would love to read a non fiction book that discusses some of the things women of color in corporate America deal with though. I have seen some interesting dynamics play out over and over again but I digress. Either way, I have decided I am just going to do me… Corporate policy trumps petty policy.

I have a new found love of books with one point of view, the heroine. Which coming from romance, hand to chest, shut your mouth! I am loving it which surprised me. Truly, I have one author who has become an auto buy for me. I had to ask her what is that crazy thing you do? I just could not figure out her point of view and she told me it was first person past tense and I have to say, I am all the way here for it. She said Ilona Andrew, Patty Briggs and Jim Butcher also writes in the same point of view. I keep getting recommendations for Andrew but know one has ever given me a place to start. If someone could recommend a series to start with I would appreciate it.

If you have not read R.J. Blain/Susan Copperfield I would say check her out, the first story I read of hers was considered one of her shorter stories but it still had some girth (girth he, he that was for my fellow romance lovers). But my favorite so far is Null and Void, a Royal States Novel. I loved the world she built and there is a hero who is present you have to read it to see how (he’s sneaky). I enjoyed how it showcased real life issues, like discrimination but utilized a fantasy realistic world . Plus she is hilarious!

I was here for it.

Since this post is already hella long, I will tell you about the authors that had me checking for vampires again on my next new to me authors post.

Side Note: Null and Void had me listening to Heart, Barracuda for some reason

Hey. I hope things smooth out for you. Unfortunately life is not easy for WOC. *HUGS*

I am trying to think if I’ve every read a romance from only one POV, and I know I have… but can’t think of what it is now. OH… I know some… Molly Harper does her romances all from heroine POV only.

You, know I have not read her in like a thousand years and it was a cute series PNR but contemporary with two povs but I am going to go back in and see what she has been up to… I realized I really missed talking about books, just for the joy of it so I am just going to do it.
