I had a sci-fi craving this weekend and instead of bemoaning the fact my favorite authors have nothing new out or rereading a beloved favorite I did what all us avid readers usually do scroll the lists from whichever site we choose to buy our goods from. This is not the first time I have done this but in the last few months I have been disappointed in the lack of selection. Don’t get me wrong there have been some titles but not enough to keep up with my massive reading appetite. So when I read Kidnapped by Maria Hammarblad I was excited to find I enjoyed the book (thank you RT Book Reviews). I was giddy as I turned the pages reading my sci-fi romance. A normal earth girl beamed up to become the focus of an alien hero’s existence. Who wouldn’t love that? But once you read one great sci-fi romance you just have to find another which led me to Tink’s Neverland by S.E. Smith a pint size rocker mechanic who is the mate of an alien in another time zone.
I was happy with my reading choices and spent my Saturday morning in heaven but why is it so hard to find sci-fi romance books, it’s almost inconvenient. When I search sites I have to shift through all the paranormal romances before I see one sci-fi romance. If I just put what I am looking for in the search boxes to narrow my criteria I usually miss something great. I just wish more sites would list sci-fi romance under its own romance subgenre. I usually hit up multiple sites just to find an exciting sci-fi romance read. Sometimes the search is to exhausting, all the time I spend searching for a book I could have read a book.
